Romero Update Part 2

J.C. Romero, the Phillies lefty on the DL to start the season, threw one perfect inning against the Dunedin Blue Jays. His fastball sat around 87, a little bit below his normal self.

He made the first batter look awkward when he hit a dribble to third. Then he struck out the second batter, and made the third batter, Travis d’Arnaud, who the Phillies traded for Roy Halladay, fly out to center.

He made two guys swing and miss, and look bad doing it, which makes you think he is close to coming back. He probably still needs at least 2-3 outing before he returns to Philly.

He threw eight pitches, and then told Pitching Coach in Charge of Pitching Rehab Carlos Arroyo that he wanted to throw more, and he threw about 15 pitches in the bullpen.
